Hiya, just wonderin if you could help me out- im a saturday girl at a hairdressers & i get on with evry1 so well but i was particually close to one of the girls who ive just found out is leaving- she has taken so much bullying from the boss & the others for a while and has become really stressed, shes come out in cold sores & evrythin..i only found out shed handed her notice in today when she text me at 3:45- its now 20:20 and ive not stoped cryin since!..i am doing an apprenticehship there too but i see my boss & evry1 else in a whole new light now even though there really nice to me, i jus dont get why they were so nasty to her. im so upset because we always said we would work together at the top end of the salon & we wouldnt give a damn about anybody else (i always said this to her so then shed stay) but now shes gone i jus dont know wether i can carry on, i feel so down, should i carry on workin there? she used to help me & be there when i needed someone to talk to- please help x

Hey there im Leah Iused to work in a salon every saturday and work as an apprentice and I got on with most of the staff, although hairdressing is a very very tough business it is very bitchy and dirty looks are flying about. However If i was u I would start looking for somewhere else and hopefully you get it and all u have to do is phone or get your mum to fone and say u arent going back as u dont have to hand in notice as u r an apprentice. Please for the mean time keep your head down and keep in touch with ur friend and hopefully soon the situation will change....

I'm not sure i agree with Leah - it may be that you are young (I'm assuming this as you are on an apprenticeship....) and are influenced easily by what others say. If the other employees are ok to you then why ruin it.....allsorts may have gone on that you don't know about.... you will find out as you get older - that there is always someone you don't like/get on with in a work place and the challenge is to work through this and find a way to work things out. Imagine if everywhere you work, you don't get on with one person -not only are you spoiling it for yourself but you could be missing a big opportunity just because someone looked at you wrong or you thought they didnt like you - you will never be happy in your work unless you find ways of getting along with others. Just because this other girl found it difficult doesn't mean YOU will. Good luck.

thanks so much for that- leah i know what you are sayin & i apprecitate your help but angeldraws hs really grown up way of putting it over & is exactly what my mum has said..you'll never get on with everyone & just because they arent nice to her doesnt mean i should levae because i get on with them really well..also like you say, things may of happened what i dont know & im only hearin the one side of it.
& yes leah salons r very bitchy..probably one of the worst places to work for it!
