Im going to be renting a house soon and the letting agency wants references off me.

I have no idea what to give him. Ive never been employed before, just been in college and looking after my little girl.

Any ideas where i can get references?

Thanks for any help!

you ned to ask them what sort of references they want ... ie if they want financial references, you would approach your bank, if they want character references you might appoach your tyutor
when they asked me for references they just asked for 2 people who have known me for at least 2 years not related or living in the same house
what about your neighbours?
family friend?
tutor?
they will prob contact these people so make sure they are genuine x
It looks more impressive if you can ask someone in a position of authority, eg if you are a churchgoer, try asking your minister, or if you have any friends who are teachers solicitors etc, or as someone said, ask a course director at uni.

When I was at uni and renting a house we were asked for references from previous landlords, you don't state whether you have ever rented in the past but if you have, this would be a good idea too.
All they really want is for someone *fairly respectable* (!) to vouch for you. Are any of your friends or neighbours in "professional" jobs (like doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, that sort of thing) ?
