Job interview

I have just been emailed by my interviewer explaining that I am still on the shortlist for the job I interviewed for last week and their decision will definitely be made middle of this week. Has anyone had a similar experience and still got the job? I was wondering if they might holding out for someone else.

This is normal. You may well get the job. They may simply have internal procedures to go through. Cross your fingers.

Well, I didn't get the job! I guess I knew there was something fishy going on when I saw the email-it usually means we are holding on to you until we officially fill the position with the person we really want!

not necessarily - the job i'm in now took 6 weeks from interview to acceptance - the HR dept just really moves slowly.
