suspension
daughter was suspended with pay, for 3 weeks, when someone made unfounded allegations against them at nursery. Thro' spite more than genuine concern is the feeling. Media picked up on it, then the scot social services council, sssc, wanted full details. The allegations were never upheld, no police action take after investigating matter, no disciplinary action by nursery. However, after repeated letters, sssc, will not give any time span on how long these details have to stay on their records. If no action or follow up procedures taken, why should they even be recorded on person's file? How can we find out the time span and whether allegations would be passed to prospective employers if a job change in future?

You should be able to find out whether a formal complaint has been lodged and the status of that complaint. If the record has been resolved the record may simply say that the complaint was not upheld.

Even if the record says the complain not upheld, why should it be noted at all? If record does say this, is it on record for life as far as sssc concerned? If someone gets points on driving license say, the points are noted for 3 years, but this is after being caught/admitting to driving charge.
If people innocent why should their record have anything written on it?? I could understand maybe if someone committed offence but their wasnt enough evidence to convict on that occasion, for theinfo to be kept in case of future problems.

if YOU were to employ one nursery assistant - would you pick the one with no details on their record.?.. or the one with details of allegations, even if they were unfounded....??
I know she was not charged with anything, but what she and 2 other girls are trying to find out is for how long these details will be on the their records. Numerous letters to sssc have not given a time limit, even if they answered FOR EVER, they would have an answer to their question.
