average rate for a jeweller is between �8.50 --9.50ph l,ve been a time served jobbing jeweller for 15 year and have to say its not what it used to be , pay is crap,the quality of the stuff to repair is crap , which makes it harder to do.+ every one is trying to under cut each other so every one ends up working for nothing, and most of the bigger firms are just the same ,so skills are not appreciated ,
Best thing i.ve done was to leave , and become a joiner , fitter now and lots more � , May be in 10 years time when there are on more skilled jewellers about, the ones that are left will be payed what their worth !
