How should I word a letter of resignation?
I've never written one before, all my other jobs have been fixed term contracts and this is the first job I've ever hated enough to quit!

Please accept this letter as my tendered notice of resignation, in accordance with my contract, to take effect thirty days from today, on 17 November 2007.
I have enjoyed the time Ive been here and have gained valuable insight as well as lasting friendships.
Would you please provide me with an accounting of any accrued leave, pension benefits or entitlements to which I may be due.
Yours Sincerely

It need not be any more detailed than this. If you work for a large company and have a number of supervisory and managerial staff to whom you report, I believe its appropriate to write them individually, making the notification slightly more personal. If this is the case, I would be pleased to offer an example.
I wish you success
