Break entitlement

What is the legal break entitlement , if you are working a six hour shift, I I always thought it was 15 mins , but now I have been told it is 30 mins thanks Gypsy X

I always thought it was 20min break after 4 1/2 hours of work . Then 2x 20min breaks for 8 hours. Could be wrong though

10 minutes during the shift then if you are staying longer you have to have 1/2 hour break before continuing.

I answered this a week ago.20 minutes for over 18s for 6 hours , 30 minutes if youre under 18.

i think it also differs if you work in front of a monitor / pc screen all day. Then I THINK its 10 mins every hour n a half, (but going to the loo, or walking to the photo copier counts a s a break)

Sorry, but you're all wrong.

If an adult worker works a 6 hour shift, his break entitlement is nil. Section 12 of the Working Time Regulations 1998 provides for a 20 minute break for adult workers who work more than 6 hours in a shift.

A young worker (under 18 years) is entitled to a break of 30 minutes if his shift exceeds 4� hours:

Don't forget that breaks are not paid, they're just breaks.

I have two10 minute breaks that are paid and 1 half hour break that isn't so I would presume its up to your employer if breaks are paid or not
