i'm thinking of doing spanish at university starting nxt year with italian or french ab inito. problem is, i don't know which university is good for languages? i've done a bit of research and have read that cambridge is very good, but i don't think i'll be able to get the grades.

Ab inito? I think that should be 'ab initio'.
There are around 20 universities that are highly regarded, though I suggest St Andrews and Durham would be good alternatives to Oxbridge.
If you do apply to Cambridge you might want to start sentences with a capital letter. Seriously though,
