My partner took the little one out to see his relatives at about 5pm, he returned at 6.30 and baby was asleep, he's still asleep now and well due a feed and change. Should I wake him or wait until he wakes up?
if his nappy needs changing then do that, he may wake enough to want a feed - if not, put him back to sleep, he'll let you know when he's hungry. The worst thing will be trying to feed him when he's sleepy which will be frustrating for both of you.
if you're looking at going to bed soon, I reckon you should gently wake him, change and feed him in silence and semi-darkness, and pray he'll drop off again straight after.
If youre unsure of taking care of your baby id advise you to speak to your health visitor about this and any other parenting issues /dilemmas you may have.
No i am a father equally qualified as a woman to advise a new mother to seek help orr advice from her health visitor.
I really thought more people would have said the same.
i'm sure a health visitor can't be reached at this time zac.
answerbank is there for advice and chat but only if the person wants to, should they do what is suggested using their common sense.
velvetee i am acfather of 3 children
i gave you correct advice dont wake the baby. you can either feed on demand or regularly either way is ok as long as the baby is taking enough fluids.
if you dont want answers then dont post questions.
and you obviously should be talking to your health visitor as youre an inexperienced mother and need correct adbvice.people online and especially on cb are not better qualified than your own health visitor as sh e has access to your babys medical records and should have a knowledge of your baby.
do not adopt that tone or attitude with me , i answered at least have the decency to take honest and genuine advice .
For the record if the women are hinting that a man doesnt know then i think you have a damn cheek. And if a man isnt capable then why was the baby away with the man without a woman to make sure he knew what he was doing?
I find the suggestion , if thats what it was , to be ridiculous.
You are a man, so what if you have 3 kids, you've probably never done anything for any of them, it's probably all been your wife. Get her on here, I'll ask her a few things and get more sensible answers from her, than bitchy, girly statements from you.
STUPID MALE Go to hell, all further spiteful, bitchy remarks from you will be ignored. I can't be doing with your crap. You sound just like Legend!
change his nappy while he's sleeping if you can, if its really needing it. i would'nt wake him up to feed though-he'll soon tell you when he's hungry and if you think you cant change him while sleeping, like the hunger, he'll soon wake up when he's uncomfortable! However, if he's prone to nappy rash or has really sensitive skin then i would attempt the nappy change!
You should write down questions like this for when you see your health visitor-i always forgot anything i was going to ask! hope this helps and you get a relatively peaceful nights sleep xx
Velvetee how dare you you stupid woman. You are the one seeking advice.I gave you the best free advice youll get here.Continue to post stupid idotic answers.
AND DONT DARE CAST ASPERTIONS ON MY PARENTING ABILITY , AS IM NOT THE ONE SEEKING ADVIC E DUE TO A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.
YOU ARE.
Now try and be a bit more civil and a bit less of an arse.
Unfortunately, the Health Visitor is not here now, so can't ask her and won't see her until Friday. Wish I hadn't bloody asked now, just get abuse and sodding criticism.
Mars06 more or less what i said.obviously changing a nappy without waking the baby is the sensible thing to do,As this is a relatively new baby i doubt the baby has settled into a regular sleeping habi that i twill continue, though it may have.
Always consult with your health visitor thats why they are there .They are only too happy to help and have knowledge of your baby that noone on a website can .Unless folk on cb have access to yoour babys medical records?Which im 100% sure they dont.
Zac you are an A Hole, not interested in your kind of bitchy, spiteful criticism, now F8ck off and stop posting here, you're useless and have nothing of interest to say to me, you poor excuse for a man.
