Hi out there,
please can anyone tell me which note to play on the piano. I am looking for A sharp, and not sure if I play Bflat. Doh, help please.

it's the same - in each group of 3 black notes the A# is the rightmost one (the 3 are F# G# A# = Gb Ab Bb)
yes, A sharp is B flat
yes, the black key between the a and b is both b flat and a sharp depending on the key of the tune.

Thank you Jumbuck, Aniani, and Ankou. Thought I had to play BFlat but nice to have the answer from experts,
I shouldn't, I know, but when I get something like an A# or a Db in a band piece, I often tippex out the correct note and write it in as Bb or C#, simply because that's an easier way for me to read them 'on the hoof' as it were.

Not technically correct (all to do with scales and keys) but it helps me.
