I'm researching weird jobs/hobbies that people in the UK have and wondered what bizarre things people do. I have one contact who spends hours 'sexing' baby chicks!

I read an article in a magazine about turkey inseminators. Apparently because of the demand for white meat, and breeding techniques these days, the modern turkey's chest muscles are too large for it to be able to mate properly, so they have to be artificially inseminated.

Don't know how true it is though!

Thats right ursula. I am a farmer and recently a guy came to work with me from a poultry farm. the stag turkeys are so large they would crush the hens during mating so not only do they have to be ai'd but there are teams of guys who masturbate the stags to get the semen
