Is this wrong

As some of you may know I was recently made redundant. There was less work coming in so 3 womens jobs turned into 1. One woman went voluntary and me and another woman went for the one job. The other girl got the job as she'd been there 17 years compared to my 13. Anyway I was asked to leave after a week and the other woman who went voluntary was asked to leave after a month as she got paid monthly. Anyway I went in to give her a leaving present when she was due to leave and she said they have now asked her to stay as they are too busy. Is this fair?

Don't get too upset I'm sure you've realised that lots of people keep their jobs or get promoted for reasons that are not entirely professional (who they know, do they have connections outside work etc) Certainly goes on at my place. Good luck with your job hunt anyway
we didnt all go for job. she was going to leave because she had only been there 2 years and wasnt on the money she wanted. I have no hate towards her at all as when they asked her to stay I said I hope theye are paying you more and she said she had asked for more. I dont want my job back at all, just wondered if there was anything illegal about it all.
What you describe is not only unfair but is unlawful in my opinion, based on what you have said. A redundancy situation did not apply.
