Why are they like this?

I am not tying all the youth of today with the same brush believe me but why have they got the attitude fck you I'm alright, the way they talk to teachers, parents, anyone that challenges them, people get their cars, houses damaged dare not confront them in case of reprisal's eg/ paint thrown over your car, windows smashed surely something has got to be done the Question is, what will work to sort these people out. does ASBOS work? My @rse it's a badge, would a limit be on the time they go out / in? I see there are plenty of Graffiti on wall, Gum on pavements, litter on the streets to pick up should they be put to work doing these jobs? If there are any JPs on here either in the UK or abroad your comments & your country's penalties would be an interesting topic.

Over inflated wages to say a footballer or singer have caused envy to be rife, and values have long since gone.
Top down corruption and greed , fiddling the system are the expected norm and rule of the day.
I do not envy the thousands of hardworking parents, who struggle to bring up their children in a world which poses so many rotten aspects.
Can it be put right , my view -- no -- it has all gone too far.

I whole-heartedly agree with you! Bl**dy so-called do-gooders, political correctness gone mad. People aen't 'allowed' to take responsibility for their own actions - oh it's a shame for him, he comes from a broken home, it's not his fault - nobody's generation had it worse than my parents, a sweetless, toyless war time austerity, taken from their families and put with strangers for evacuation, yet they turned out fine, hard working upstanding citizens. The way children talk to their parents these days makes me shudder - i STILL wouldn't smart- mouth my parents the way some do today. Sadly disciplin seems to be a dirty word these days.
I gave a cheer the other day when that magistrate got his job back after originally being sacked for calling two teenagers 'absolute scum' - I couldn't believe when I read that originally one of his co-workers actively encouraged the mother of one of the offending youths to complain about his comments, which resulted in him getting the sack. Thank goodness for a bit of common sense and he is now re-instated.

Kids like this are really in a minority though. The town I live in is a very deprived area with a lot of unemployment and drugs. I have a teenage daughter and I know lots of local kids through her and my work and the majority of them are pleasant and well mannered despite coming from poor backgrounds. There is a very small bunch who are thoughtless, rude troublemakers, but actually there are much worse adults out there who cause much more damage and destruction and are just horrible, dangerous people. I don't think it's fair to lay all the blame with teenagers as they are a very small part of the problem and it is usually just a few bad apples.
