Private French tutoring

In an attempt to earn some extra cash I am thinking about doing some after-school French tutoring for GCSE/A-Level standard kids.

Does anyone have ideas where I can advertise my services? Is it best to approach local schools, or should I put ads in local newsagents/papers?

You could approach your local college. Most colleges are short of A level lecturers. If you work as a sessional worker you earn approx �19 per hr.  You could approach the head of A Levels to offer private tuition however your best bet is to approach the head of ALS at a college.  ALS is additional learning support services for students.. they provide 1-2-1 tuition and extra facilities.

I don't know if this appeals to you but there are franchises consisting in starting up French (and Spanish) language groups for school children.  www.childensclubs.com.

Yeah, willow74 has a good answer about being a tutor. I know a few people who do some part-time work for http://www.select-tutors.co.uk/ It's free to register with them and they will let you know if anyone wants tuition in your area. There must be loads of things like this available on the web, its probably best to register with as many as possible and see what happens.
