I've just set up my own business, and quitting my full-time job in 2 months' time to be able to run it. I plan to do some part-time work while getting the business off the ground.

Does anyone know of any good/different/ingenius methods for attracting customers? I'm all out of ideas!

Setting up as a virtual administrator, and I'm trying to attract any types of small businesses.

By virtual administrator, I presume you are looking to help run businesses (HR, Finance, IT, risk management etc).  Three things spring to mind, not sure any are useful.  Firstly, target companies that use the instant small office companies for premises.  Second, talk to the DTI / local government about identifying recipients of small business grants.  Finally, make sure your value proposition is clear, concise and highlights financial savings gained by outsourcing.

Given that your marginal costs of performing your services are probably quite low (it costs you a similar amount to help someone as not help them), perhaps target good prospect clients and offer a free month trial.

Finally, make sure your cash flow and personal liability are well managed!

Good luck
