I have completed two years of a Psychology degree, but I have now been accepted as a trainee paramedic, will I have to pay back my student loan?

If you mean will you need to pay it all back now because you've left your course, then no.

I think, if you were in receipt of a grant for the two years you should be made to pay that back too. Stop wasting my taxes.

I believe it depends on your salary, I think that as soon as you start to earn over a certain amount (it was �15k in my day) then you have to start paying it back.

Everybody has a right to change their mind and follow up openings that present themselves. Grants are practically non-existent and are certainly less than signing on and really wasting 'your' taxes.

I personally left a course before completing it to take up a completely different career and now earn far more (and therefore pay far more tax) than I would have if I completed it, so don't judge a book by its cover.

Oh, one more thing, anyone wanting to become a paramedic definately has my support.
