We've all heard of the Open University - but has anyone any knowledge or experience of the Open College UK?
My daughter is about to part with £400+ to undertake a course in Nutrition & Dietetics (open/postal learning). The website seems authentic enough, and there is a Diploma at the end of it, issued by the SFTR - National UK Therapies Register - it seems to specialise in complementary therapies.
Thank you Count - I'll read them when I can. I'm proud of my daughter for wanting to further her education, at her own cost if necessary, but I don't want her to waste her money. x
It is a registered and recognised CMA (Complementary Medical Association) Open College Diploma (SFTR accredited - whatever that is). So not a degree or anything, but a good thing to have on one's CV surely?
I just don't want her to waste her money on what turns out to be a worthless piece of paper to most health care professionals, hospitals, surgeries etc.
Morning, salla. How about contacting a potential future employer (clinic, hospital care agency, school or whatever) - their HR dept could tell you if the course is recognised and would count as evidence of learning etc.
