Offer aditional products that complement their purchase which they may not have remembered/considered they would need. maintain eye contact and offer thanks for their custom.

When selling any product become familiar with it's features that make it suitable for the customers needs, you can only do that if you have listened to their wants, discuss the benefits from choosing that particular item, is it vale for money, does it have a guarantee and mention any incentive to purchase, like price point, offers or other discounts.
dotty. I know you have a vast experience in retail but just like to ask you your opinion about some shop assistants approaching you whilst browsing, as soon as one asks me if I need any help then it puts me off and I leave the shop. Sometimes I just like to look and see if there is anything I fancy, I may buy, I may not, but I feel pressured when someone is looking over my shoulder, what is your professional opinion about this.
