My Jelous friends Is Makeing My Life A Missory!

I have a friend called Mary and we've been friends 9 years. But this year she's been extremely annoying!! She is jelous of my best friend Kate. She follows her around and writes to her and hardly ever writes to me anymore. I don't like Mary any more and i want to end our friendship once and for all. Kate is an extremely great friend but she likes Mary even though she tells me she doesn't. I know Mary wants me out of the way so she can be friends with Kate alone.
So I want to end it, but i don't know if i should. I have a part time job with Mary and her Mum is my boss. I hate the job too because she is there but the money is good. Also i'm afraid of looseing Kate. She said she'll always be on my side no matter what way this goes but i don't want to put her in that position were she has to choose between friends. She wants us to try and leave Mary and just pretend she doesn't exsist but to be honest it's easier said than done.
Most people say i should talk to May about but i just can't. She is the loud sort who would talk about it behind my back and only embarass me. It's been going on for a year now and i'm so depressed and upset. I have 3 more years left at school before i leave for college so i can't just let it go on. What should i do?

according to your other post, mary is bullying you. So how come you are looking at ways to end the "friendship"? theres no friendship there.

Speak to an adult who you trust, parent, teacher etc

Gleekyboo I think you just have to accept that in life - sometimes people you were friends with change - or you change - and you no longer want to spend time with that friend.

i suggest you get a new part time job - and distance yourself from her....

You will find other friends - some better than the ones you have now - and you will change too s you grow older!

I'm sure most people here - especially the girls - had a best friend at school.. and another girl who wanted to be the best friend... Girls can be quite possessive about who people are friends with...
Life goes on - and people change.
I was super jealous of another girls attempts to 'take my best friend away' from me, and turn her against me.
Sometimes it seems like the biggest problem in the world.
I assure you it isnt.. be mature about this... and move on. Dont try to persuade Kate to take sides or cut Mary off... you dont have the right to do that.
If she is a friend worth having she will be there for you... if she isnt there for you - then she perhaps wasnt the best friend you thought she was.

doesnt matter if her mum is your boss, if she is bullying you then you need to sort it in an adult way. Speak to your mum or someone who you trust to help you

thanks guys! I really appreciate this! I think i am going to try and move on next monday when were back at school. I've had enough of her makeing my life hell. It's good to know i'm not the only person who has gone through this. I talked to Kate today and she told me lets go for it. She says from now on we will act like best friends and ignore what Mary says or does. It turns out that Kate doesn't like Mary. She says she's a right b1tch behind my back and Kate is sick of hearing it all. She wants me to be happy and she says we'll do whatever it takes :)

I think I may have travelled back in time and written this myself.

Ever heard the phrase "three's a crowd"? There were 3 of us girls at school and we would compete to be each others best friends, *** each other off behind their backs and tell each one what they wanted to hear. You would have thought we hated each other and none of us should have been friends at all. Now all in our 20's, we get together every now and then to catch up and have the best nights out, usually full of laughs about what bitches we all were to each other.
