When making a claim for a fall at an event is the claim made against the event organizer or is the claim made against the owner of the rented premises where the event took place.
surely it would depend on the details? If you fell down a well that the venue had left uncapped and unsigned it might be different than if the organiser had left a big roll or carpet and someone fell ove.
If you tripped over a handbag belonging to another guest it might be different again
yes it depends what happened... if the person merely fell over then no-one is to blame - they are responsible for their own injuries - but if they fell because of someones negligence then it depends who was responsible for said obstacle
The reason for asking is that an occupier is liable for injury caused by defects to his land or buildings; that would be the landlord, and suing the organiser would be difficult; but if the fall is something caused by the organisers' negligence and failing to take proper care for the safety of customers, the landlord isn't liable but the organiser is.
