Hearing Loss Claim

I replied to an advert by solicitors as my wife is always telling me I'm going deaf.The solicitors told me I might be able to claim for loss of hearing if I worked in noisy environments from 1963 which is the year the legislation became law.I will have to take a hearing test which the solicitors will pay for. Has anyone made a claim under this legislation ?.

If its 'no win no fee' solicitors, go for it as they dont take on claims with little chance of success

I received an award of several thousand after a successful claim several years ago as did many workers in the mining industry.The claims were funded by the unions and didn't cost us.It's worth pursuing as any money you get is a bonus if it's not going to cost you anything.

in the good old days of legal aid - a fren' was told he had a Good Case until the green form was exhausted and then told he had no case at all. we agreed that all the lawyer wanted to do was fill a legal-aid sized hole in his finances and nothing else.

Yes....go ahead.....you will need a hearing test and you will have to be seen by an E.N.T specialist who will take a very involved history.

Not all deafness is noise induced.....but the specialist will sort it.

I went for a free hearing test at Boots, the audiologist told me I had a slight loss of hearing but this was due to my age so I have decided not to proceed with any claim
