Tap water in bars

Is it law that tap water is available in Bars and Pubs in England. I was forced to but a bottle of water at the weekend when I asked for tap water.

Not sure about legal side....but i know that you can be charged for use of the glass if ordering tap water.......

you cannot be charged for the water itself, but you can be charged for the facility of it, i.e, labour, glass, place to drink it etc, especially if thats all you are buying.
