dog barking
somewhere near me, somebody leaves a dog outside and it barks constantly till past midnight almost every night. i dont know where it is, i dont live in a great area and dont feel safe wandering about trying to find it in the dead of night! i live alone, so cant ask anyone to come with me. trouble is, that darned dog barking, is driving me barking - barking mad. i cant get to sleep and am getting so wound up. i dont like shutting the window cos its too stuffy - and franky i dont think i should have to. surely this is antisocial noise. is there anyone i can report it to when i dont know where its coming from.

We have a dog that spends all the time we are home indoors with us but he chooses to sleep outside, we leave the back door open in the evenings and when he wants to go to sleep he goes out and sleeps on the patio.
Our dog barks when people walk past the back fence as he is curious and wanting to know whats happening, doesnt mean in anyway that he is a 'poor dog'.

i understand, that as animals, its ok for dogs to be outside (well so long as they have shelter and comfort) and its not really an issue that i feel sorry for the dog. its just that its a nuisance because of the constant barking into the wee hours of the morning. i noticed at the weekend that its barking most of the day as well. i think that its irresponsible to leave your dog outside if it is causing such a nuisance, but dont know who i can get to follow this through.
Dont get me wrong, im not saying a dogs constant barking isnt annoying or worrying, just the fact its assumed as its outside its a 'poor dog!'
Yes, report it to the RSPCA and say you are worried about the welfare of the dog as it barks constantly and no one seems to be paying it any attention.
They will drop by and give them a visit to check the dog is ok and being looked after properly.
