my husband pays his taxes etc but by law his employer has to put a no smoking sign on the lorry.
why can't my hubby have a sign on his works lorry stating that he is a smoker then people can choose if they want to stay away from him like a leper..what about concentrating more on the people who are driving around illegally and put goverment money to better use.i have just heard that someone has been reported for smoking in his works lorry..surely who are these sad people who have such dull lives and have nothing better to do.
also i am a non smoker i disagree with loads of children running around in the pub with no disipline.talk about rights.
my husbands boss would have no objection to him smoking in the cab as nobody else uses the lorry.sorry i will rephrase that.1 week per year he has aholiday and that is the only time anybody else goes in that lorry.
I KNOW ITS LAW.bur surely not everything is black or white

It is black and white -in print.

You shouldn't seem so surprised about it - there has been plenty of warnings.
It's not 'his' works lorry - it's his employer's lorry.

That does make it black and white, unfortunately for him
The same rule applies to company cars. Luckily Mr Pippa uses his own car so can puff away as much as he likes when he gets stuck on the M25.

With the window open, of course.
It is illegal! If I see your husband smoking in his employers lorry I will firstly stroipe him roight up round the ear 'ole, then grass him up!

the only person he is affecting or harming is hisown self.
What about all those innocent young female hitch-hikers that you don`t know about?

Ahh yes but i would know .have you heard the saying why have mince out when you have steak at home.
At least he pays his taxes?????
Question Author
yes he pays his taxes.did you know that there are 13million smokers in the uk.the total tax we pay a year is around 16billion pounds yet we are treated like outcasts.this was taken from acutting found in yesterdays paper
Don't be daft. Do you honestly expect the law to be drafted in a way that it takes every single smoker's case into account? The law is there for a reason, and applies to the entire juristiction. What if your husband was given a helper for a day? Are you saying that they shouldn't work because he's flouting the law? If there's never an opportunity for that to happen, do you expect the govt to know?
Question Author
he would not be given a helper as never has.i know this is a no win situation as smokers are now the minority so hubby really will have to do as he is told for a change, thanks for all replies it was quite interesting hearing peoples views but a shame that this is not an ideal world.
Let's face it, if he smokes in his lorry he is breaking the law. But who would ever know, and how would they ever go about prosecuting him?
