Been separated 2.5 years, had a legal separation agreement in place, sold marital home, split profits as agreed and have been living separate lives with him paying child maintenance payments monthly. How much can I expect to pay for a divorce and how do I go about it in the cheapest way possible? Thanks.

Your solicitor will apply to the court to have it granted. You don't need to do anything except sign it when it pops through your door then post it back to your solicitor for him to pass to your ex (or his solicitor) for him to sign and that's that.

Mine cost me sod all because I got my ex to arrange it all, it cost him 60 plus solicitors fee's.

We did the same as you - got the legal separation, split our assets and went our separate ways, divorce was granted 2 years after the legal separation.
Phone your local Courts to file for divorce.....they will explain procedure.....Costs around 40 and done within 3months (according to Court bookings) if the OH raises no objections.

Save all the solicitor costs!
There won't be any objections because the legal separation has been in place for more than 2 years x

Can you still do it that cheaply through court if you have children? I thought it had to be a non-simplified procedure which would cost hundreds?
