If someone got 60.93 for a days work what would there take home pay be after they paid tax? Not sure how to work it out. (I have to but it through on my time sheet and then pay them in cash)
If your boss is asking you to do this, then decline.
The implication is that your pay as reported to HMRC is going to be inflated by 60.93 gross. And you are paying this other employee.
One wonders why your boss can't just pay the person as a casual staff member - or put him properly onto the books.
It is a offence for an employer to employ a foreign worker who is not entitled to work in the UK. This was done to prevent asylum seekers (and indeed illegals generally) who are having their cases considered from working.
You will be become an accessory.
Chuck - your answer is not a straight basic-rate-tax-deducted proportion of 60.93? - which would be 48.74.
I assume that you have factored in a proportion of personal allowance?
Lukey would get deducted tax of 12.19.
Then there is employee's NI of 11% to take into account - another 6.70 - because Lukey will presumably be earning between the NI thresholds.
Its messy and illegal - as I said above - just don't do it.
Yeah I did take into account a personal allowance, probably a very slightly high one too.... but that aside.... think we are all in agreement...... Don't do it!
