Bankruptcy Search

When a Solicitor does a bankruptcy search, and he checks The Gazette, how far back does his checks go? I.e. if somebody was bankrupt in 1999 and discharged in 2002, does this still appear on The Gazette or the bakruptcy records?

I believe bankruptcies are deleted from this 3 months after discharge. I do not know whether the Gazette has a separate searchable database - I thought it was just a paper publication.
Bankruptcies are also notified to the Credit Reference Agencies & appear on their records for 6 years from the date of the bankruptcy order.
