Accident Claim
Desperate for advice.
My wife had accident in april 2010. In August this year we were bombarded with calls stating that the other insurers had money waiting to be collected for the sake of signing a few documents. We then had a call from solicitors offereing to collect this money no win no fee. They arranged a medical and offered to get us £2100.
After all this time we have been transferred to another person in the same firm who wants my wife to go to court for the damages 'in excess of £1000'
My wife does not want to go to court as the other person is a near neighbour and it will not be veery nice.
She thought that this would all be settled by the other persons insurance company
We wander whether she could back out now without any expense as we are both in our late seventies and this is now causing us some distress

Quite often things are settled just before court - the insurance companies seem to drag it out and out till the 11th hour (probably in the hope you will get fed up)
I presume there is no doubt that the neighbour was at fault?

bednobs. Its messy. At the time of the accident although my wife was badley bruised she told our insurers that she didn't want to take any further action to avoid the fuss we have now. After two years we start getting phone calls four or five times a week which I fielded myself. Unfortunately she anwered when I was out and was sweet talked into taking this action. (It would be so easy and she would have money for Christmas!) Anyway thanks or your interest, we'll keep worrying until it sorts itself.
This sounds like one of the companies that buys details of accidents people have and then tries to get them to claim and take a cut. I had a minor bump in my car, hit by another driver. Went through our insurance companies and settled. Just under 3 years later got a phone call, like yourselves, that there was money waiting for me. Just had to say I had whiplash, bruising etc (I wasn't injured at all). I said, did they expect me to lie, that it would be fraud and immoral but they still tried to persaude me. I hung up in the end. I hope you can get this sorted out.
