suspension from work
0 Answers
on thursday the 30th on November, i purchased some items (2) from the shop as they were having a promo. the transaction was done at the end of the day. i was contemplating buying a third item but decided not to. so i put it down but it was still onthe till point. my colleague who was serving me knew that i no longer wanted it. nearing the end of the transaction another colleague cam over and bagged my items ( in attempt to help speed up the transaction because the till needed to be cashed up and it was the end of the day) under the impression that i brought all 3. I didnt see him putting all 3 items in th bag as i was talking to another colleague and the one serving me. it was not until i got upstairs when the security checked my bag and noticed that i had 1 too many items. he asked me i said i do not know how it got there as i never paid for it and i never packed my bags. he started making threats and called a manager. I said the exact same thing to the manager. he asked me to find the person who served me. she came upstairs and the guy who packed my bags was there as well. the female said she served me-thats all. the guy who packed my bags said i thought she brought all 3 so i put all 3 in the bag. the manager got the stamp checked by security an i went home. I went into work this morning, and I got told that i was being suspended on full pay due to the incident on thrusday. i work for a concession in a department store so it was my concession manager who told me that i was been suspended, but its the department store that is holding the investigation on monday. is it fair that it is only me that got suspended from work? is there any underlying legalities here as to what the department are doing wrong?
could someone get back to me asap
thanks
