last conviction 1998 i want to go to canada because of tight security all internetional holiday makers are subject to a advance persons identity record.i dont know if this would show my police records. i dont really want to phone the canadian embassy and open up a can of worms, can any one advise me heeelp .....
Depending on the offence you are deemed rehabilitated after 5 or 10 years. You can also apply for rehabilitation if you are in the 5-10 year bracket for a more serious offence.
Whether any of this would show up in Canadian immigration records when you arrive I don't know. Unlike the US they don't seem to make a big show of this and AFAIR they don't ask on arrival.
