hi i need some advice ASAP. im really worried and want to know what next step i can take is.to cut a long story short key facts are
1. i got a producer(hort1) and told to produce within 7 days.
2. i needed to show my licence, insurance, mot cert. i have all these but my insurance cocked up 1 poxy letter in my reg no. and police were being difficult and said id have to get in contact and get it sorted.
3. this i tried to do so many times but after 3 copies of my insurance doc still with wrong reg i recieved the correct one.
4. i then went to produce before court, didnt let me said not enough time to fax it off to them?
5. i went to court and id missed the date so they proceded with case in my absence and fined me 295 for no insurance 45cost and 6 points
6. im more than willing to pay the court costs as its my fault i missed. but the others im not. also im in my first 2years of driving and six points means a ban
what do i do now!

You need to contact your local court office and explain the situation carefully to them. If you can prove you had insurance for the specified date - then they should agree to re-open the case for you. Do this without delay as you are currently disqualified from driving.
They could theoretically lay another charge against you of failure to produce documents - but hopefully that will not happen.

I agree go along to your court explain to the Magistrates your problem ( have all the documents / letters with you) ask them to set aside the the case proved in absence and show them that you were insured. They are not ogres and anyone who has a genuine problem will be heard. With a bit of luck you get a wrap on the knuckles and court costs. Let us know how you get on
