GBH broken JAw

Me and 2 friends are being charged with one count of section 18 gbh. A man was drunk and so were we, he was telling me how he was not going to let me go home keeping his hand on my shoulder. He then got into an arguement with my friend and they started to fight. we chased him and he tripped over a drain and we gave him 4 or 5 kicks while he was on the floor. The main person broke his jaw by kicking it and were caught on cctv. He has now left the country and cried to the officer so he is off bail 2. Me and my remaining 2 friends have never been in trouble before, clean records and are working, theyre also in education. What punishment am i looking at, jail i guess, how long?! we are all of good character and cant believe how serious this fight has become. The main guy who broke his jaw, and thats why its gbh has gone but we did not kick his jaw, we have pleaded guilty

this is the first fight ive gotten into, i cant believe its gona result in custodial sentece. Even if i write a letter to the judge im working and providing financial support for my mum, wont hte judge look at that

yes, he might. It being a first offence might help too. You should think about getting some legal representation for this - someone with a smooth tongue to put the best light on your actions. The fact that it wasn't you who broke his jaw is probably not going to help, but a lawyer would point out to the court how the person responsible isn't even in court. I don't want to give you too much hope (and I'm not sure you deserve it), but it's always worth playing up any positive aspects in your character.

Good advice by jno.
Get a decent solicitor and you may end up with a suspended sentence - I fear that this would be the best you could hope for though.
