I have a small question regarding common assault sentence..If someone gets a maximum penalty of 6 months in prison for a common assault, is there any chance to have this sentence suspended after apealing? taking into consideration also the fact of not being convicted before?..

yes, yes yes, its so easy these days, just appeal and you will get off with it, even if you murder someone you get off with it!
Do you mean you or someone you know has been sentenced to 6 months and wants to have the sentence reduced on appeal?
If so you first need grounds for appeal to be granted by a judge, then start the appeal process.
In real life as you only serve 1/2 of the 6 months, ie 3 months , the sentence would be over before the appeal could be arranged.
In actual fact the person would probably be in jail for less than that as they would be likedly to get early release . 8 weeks in jail then out ''on tab'' is a likedly result.
