Isn't it time that the police stopped trying to appease some Muslims in Tower Hamlets, and got this borough sorted out?

We hear very little of what is going off in some of these London ghettos, stories such as this,

/// One teacher at the Bigland Green primary school, Nicholas Kafouris, last year took the council to an employment tribunal, saying he was forced out of his job for complaining that Muslim pupils were engaging in racist and anti-Semitic bullying and saying they supported terrorism, he lost his case,.///

/// Last year, a mob of 30 young Muslims stormed a local gay pub, the George and Dragon, beating and abusing patrons. ///

/// Homophobic crimes in the borough have risen by 80 per cent since 2007/8, and by 21 per cent over the last year, a period when there was a slight drop in London as a whole. ///

/// Peter Tatchell, the gay human rights campaigner, said: “The police said no-one was allowed to talk publicly about this because they didn’t want to upset the Muslim community. ///

I know the area well, and i am not surprised by this news.
AOG You can't be accused of reporting from the DM this time.
Police, politicians, and local council looking the other way, appeasement has a nasty ring to it doesn't it. I am afraid that if you say such things you will be
labelled, a racist, its why many say nothing.
You should see what they did to that poor man, i am surprised that he survived.
The men have been sent to jail, good, but why do so many people choose to ignore this problem, its not confined to Tower Hamlets.
I wonder why, with all the news stories available to you, you picked these three particular articles, this morning............?

Oh, wait a moment, No, I don't..........
Do I detect a smidgeon of sympathy for the gay community form AOG? 'Tis much to be welcomed.
Andrew Gilligan reprises his anti-islamic rants from last year's "Dispatches", shock horror probe.....
so no problems then, just a weighted article from an anti islamist with his own agenda. And whether AOG picked up on this or not, perhaps to cause a stir, do you not think these things go on and are not being addressed properly.

You then present two cases, one were 4 men were sent to prison and the other where one man was sent to prison. How is that appeasing the criminals?
successive governments in Britain have been trying to stamp out homophobia, racism, ageism, and sexism in our society for ages by laws, legislation, and that surely is the aim of a decent law abiding community. But if the laws of the land, politicians, and police appease, turn a blind eye, ignore, call it what you will, a certain section of that society because of their beliefs, culture surely that is wrong. We should all be singing from the same hymn sheet, we don't want to go backwards.
Em. Dont the muslim community have their own sharia law courts in this country? I agree entirely with what you say there should be only one law of the land - for all to follow.
Not everywhere, brenden, and only for specific family-related matters, as I understand it.

I wish I could believe that boxtops, but we do not know what goes on inside these courts - they are never published.

Because my dear old jack, I know how much they upset you.
Quite as spiteful as I had suspected, AOG..........it does you great credit.

Are you reading my thread correctly, or even the Daily Mail's report?

You are quite correct, I posted only two cases from a number the Daily Mail reported on.

One was regarding the case of the school teacher, who lost his case.

The other was regarding the case of 30 Muslims who stormed a local gay pub, only one of his assailants has been caught and jailed.

I can see no evidence where 4 men were sent to prison.

If you read the whole DM report, along with all the cases mentioned in that report, you will not fail to notice that the police are indeed appeasing the Muslims.

A case of the kettle calling the pot black.
And appeasement has never and will never work - as Neville Chamberlaine found out - it has a nasty habit of backfiring.
We should all be abiding by British law, i am aware that there are long established Jewish courts, and now we have Sharia Law, but this doesn't seem right to me at all. If we are ever to have a cohesive society, then we should all be pulling together, that is obviously not the case. I see Orthodox Jewish communities in London, who marry within their own faith, community, and do not appear to mix with other communities, and the same can be said for many Asians. I truly believe this is shoring up problems for the future. One law of the land, the land you were born into, and the land that you settle in.
I wouldn't dream of emigrating to a country, and not abide by their laws, and
way of life. I would try and fit in, assimilate and hopefully become part of their communities.
I agree em
