Local Authority Code of Conduct Complaints
Having been accused unfairly of breaches of the Local Authority Code of Conduct (Parish Council) I am now to be subjected to a hearing before a sub-committee of a principal authority Standards Committee. I believe the whole process is flawed, that the investigation was badly performed, that witnesses have consistently lied and misrepresented situations and that the Governance Department of the principal authority are refusing to address the issue of a badly conducted investigation by refusing to call crucial witnesses for the defence. Should I report this whole matter to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and the Local Government Ombudsman quoting evidence of serious maladministration. The hearing sub-committee of the Standards Committee are due to meet early in September. Has anyone been through this procedure and can offer any advice?
