My brother was accused of shoplifting in a well known supermarket on Friday evening. He was knocked to the ground by a male (quite heavy built) member of staff (not a security guard) and is now in severe pain with a twisted back, hip and knee. He is also very badly bruised all over his hip.
Does anyone know if he can take action against the supermarket in question.
They did call the police but my brother was let go without charge.

Elvis, my point is that this is in 'Law' whether anyone thinks it is odd or bogus is irrelevant - don't comment if you cannot give constructive advice.

LD leave this thread for now and do as you say tomorrow , good luck.

Yes in a well known Supermarket...One of the biggest.....I dont know why an employee would act that way.....Maybe he is looking for promotion or something ....Anyway once we get a lawyer on to it we'll find out..
I know people who work for large Supermakets - and their training
would expressly forbid any intervention - especially on the premises

The reason I came on here was for a bit of advice as we were waiting until tomorrow morning to contact CAB.. ..My brother was marched into the managers office after being knocked over and by the time he got back out all he wanted to do was get home....And dont "well ?" me.....I didnt come on here to be made out to be a liar....My brother has never been in trouble with the police before and is NOT a thief....The cigarette counter is on the way to the main exit and my brother went there as the queues in the main area were too long.... Dont even bother to answer me again...You are boring me now.

If it were my sick brother,I would have been at Morrisons first thing
Saturday morning to get a clearer picture in my own mind..it is not
in Morrisons interests to distress valuable customers.
