BBC TV Licence
I am always mindful of things found on the internet, however I am wondering if the following link and the info therein is factually correct? The video offers an argument suggesting that having to pay the TV licence is not legally enforcible: http://tv-licensing.b...-tv-licence-scam.html

"I think you only run into problems when you simply stop paying without actually informing them you no longer require that license. "
why should you have to waste your time and phone minutes to inform them that you are not doing anything illegal.
Why should you have to inform them that you use a tv to watch DVD's or as PC monitor etc
Owning a TV set is not illegal, only watching tv as its broadcast live is an offence.
I think they are running a brothel but I have no more proof of that than they do that you are using your TV illegally.
They have the cheek to call their lackies that come round to your house to ask you what youre doing with a tv set enforcers, they are no such thing , they are sales people who will try and scare you into buying a licence even though you dont need one
Why doesnt the government put a stop to their bullyboy tactics ?
Sooner they get rid of the BBC and make it work for its revenue the better
fffflukk them

First of all they do have vans but they are not full of electronic gear, we have the number of 3 different vans, Mercedes, White Hi-Tops with a blacked out window on the side.
They go out with two ops , one driver and one in the back to film from a camera fitted with a telephoto lens or video camera, that is what the blacked out window is for.
They film the light that is caught on house window glass as possible evidence of tv licence evasion and sometimes use this to obtain a search warrant.
It does not prove you are watching tv illegally but the magistrates all get a magazine from the bbc and can go on free teaching courses all funded by the bbc so they are happy to help
These courses are run by a firm called fishburn hughes ( or something similar) paid by the bbc
If you contact them they will want to search your property sometimes more than once. Only when the tv goon is happy will they leave you alone for two years, Then they will contact you again this is there standard procedure.
Best way to deal with the bbc is never speak to them
keep your front door shut and your mouth shut and they are lost, without your name what can they do.

This is all about the fact that in order to prosecute you for using a TV without a licence they actually have to PROVE that not only do you have a TV set but that you use it to watch live programs. You DO NOT need a licence if for example you have a TV that is only used to watch Videos or DVDs. You do not need a licence if you have a TV that does not work.
The ONLY way that they can prove this is broadcasts , it does not have to be the BBC you are watching. As they can only enter your home if you invite them in, they can not get the evidence and therefore can not prosecute you if you refuse to let them in to your house.
TV detector vans are all fakes they are just to frighten you into buying a licence. They can not say that they heard the TV from outside as it is not proof, they actually have to see it and see that it is being used to watch a broadcast. So as long as you never let them into your house and never admit to using a TV to watch a broadcast you can never be prosecuted for not having a TV licence. Obviously you must not have a subscription to sky or virgin as a court will accept that as proof of viewing. The BBC do not like people knowing this but it is all true.

You don t need a licence if you don t use any of these devices to watch or record television programmes as they re being shown on TV - for example, if you use your TV only to watch DVDs or play video games, or you only watch ‘catch up’ services like BBC iPlayer or 4oD.
