I am just wondering what people think would be gained from the recent enquiries about Jimmy Saville.
Do people expect to be able to sue the beneficiaries of his estate for compensation?.
no i wouldn't think so. I believe for some it is to get closure, or to be vindicated as they may well have told someone years ago, but were not believed
surely out of all of them, some would have come forward while he was still alive !
They were kids, for gods sake!
As Canary says, I'm sure they felt a huge sigh of relief when he passed away, and they were finally able to speak - and be heard.
They might have been kids when it 'happened' but they have had years to come forward. Also one of them was 14 when she willingly went off with him. He isn't here to defend himself so it's not fair that we should presume they are all telling the truth.
This is a man who the met police have described as a predatory sex offender who abused girls on a national scale. This is a man who the Met believe abused at least 25 young girls.
It is very much in the public interest to explore these claims, and to better understand how such a predator was able to persue his own predilictions with, it seems, total impunity.
And all you worry about is that this is the work of some opportunist women looking for some compo? I would suggest you may wish to re-evaluate your priorities.....
