B.Day is my usual dayof work;however when the rotas became available 29/10 my name wasn't included. Each time I've worked I've checked and still not listed to work. However on Sun 2/12 the actual tmesheets are available and there is my name. I feel this is grossly unfair weeks before Xmas and I,m up north anyway for some days.My question is "do I have to work" at such late notice?

we used to have an agreement between the unions and management the rosters would be posted 3 weeks before holidays like christmas and easter, this would be the final copy, prior to this staff were asked yes or no, if not enough staff said yes then some had to be rostered on, this very rarely happened.
what agreements are in place at your work.
Its 24 days notice, thats over 3 weeks and I don't really think its 'such late notice'. If it is your normal day of work then yes, I would say that you do have to work unless you can get someone to swap with you.
It entirely depends on the norm in your organisation. If 24 days is the norm, then you are rostered (so to speak).

Although it is too late now, a way around this for you is to book a specific day you must have off as holiday, then if they don't roster you on, you don't need to take the holiday.
