Double Vision With New Glasses

I have been experiencing double vision with a pair of glasses I ordered online. I have only been wearing them for 24 hours, and the problem only seems to occur when I take the glasses off and put them on again. My eyes seem to adjust to the glasses a few seconds after putting them on.
I ordered the glasses with a new prescription I was given by my opitician under a month ago. There were some changes in my eyesight since my last examination, including a change in my axis measurement from 180 to 5 in one eye and 180 to 175 in the other. Anyone have any idea why this might be, and what I can do about it?

One is the exact measurement of your pupil centres not being accurate, the other is that the specs need to be seated on your head as everyone has different configurations of ears, nose bridge and the lumpy bits behind your ears. Even slightly off will give you double vision with specs that are of the right prescription. This is what the dispensing optician does at the shop - they use that hot air machine to soften the plastic and shape it to you, and this is something that is impossible to do online.
You could try sweet-talking a local opticians but even if they agree to handle it I bet they charge you. The likes of Specsavers will just say they can't handle 'other' specs.

Go back to the opticians where you had your sight test and ask them to check to see if the specs are made up to the prescription that was issued and are fitting as required. They may charge you for this service (I would). If they are and you are having these symptoms they should recheck your prescription free of charge. They may then reglaze those frames to the new prescription.
