I wonder how they can possibly tell after all this time, and why Richard III, why not some other king or in all probability some poor little sod who got embroiled in their wars (if the skull is that old). Unless, of course it was wearing a crown or had traces of blue blood around it (sorry just being facetious).
If the DNA tests do reveal it to be Richard III then he ought to be buried next to his wife Anne Neville in Westminster Abbey.
He was the last Enbglish King to die in battle on British soil and it's likely to be him Star ( I hope it's him) because he was buried in the Church onf the Greyfirars after the battle of Bosworth in Leicester. At the dissolution of the monasteries the church was sacked and his body was allegedly chucked into the river Soar- but that's been disputed for a long time. They havge DNA tested his sister's descendants to make sure they have the right chap or not. I'm so excited to seeif it's actually him, he was the last Egnlish King to really die a hero and as such deserves recognition and a proper burial.

They will know as they've traced a familly tree (took 2 years) and found someone in Canada related.
They use mitochopndrial DNA Which is different from the DNA that is in the nucleus of cells and doesn't get reproduced sexualyy so it is passed down a maternal line with little change - yours is just like your mothers and her mothers etc.
There have also been facial reconstructions which bear a resemblance to contemporary portraits.
I guess there are a few candidate places for burial - St. Georges Chapel Winsor, Westminster Abbey or one of the Northern Cathedrals as he ruled as virtual monarch up there for most of his life.
Not sure the Queen will be too keen on Richard being buried in St George's
A/ He's always got the princes in the Tower thing hanging over him
B/ He's a bit of a reminder of the discontinuities in her familly's supposedly continuous sucession.
Henry VII who killed Richard at Bosworth and was Henry VIII's father had a rather dubious claim to the throne!

The Queen was very obstructiuve about the skeletons they found under the staircase in the Tower, really ridiculous woman on this subject. As you say though she's really got bugger all to do with the rightful claim to the throne so she's likely to be touchy ;-)
I imagine everywhere will be queueing up to have him planted in their place if it is him because he's going to be a hell of a crowd puller for the next few years.
