Feeding Fish - How Many Times?

I'm feeding them fish flakes. Someone told me "a small pinch twice a day" but on the tub it says "several times a day".

I don't want to overfeed them, but I also don't want them to starve to death.

Can someone please tell me how many times I should be feeding them per day?

My 5 get a half teaspn once a day but sometimes I forget and they follow me around till I remember 3 days later, they're hardy ;)

Mine seem to recycle the feed as they've been with me for 5years. The more you feed the sooner you clean them. They nibble algae off tank and ornaments.

They seem to go mad when I drop the flakes in, in the morning. Like they're starving hungry!

They will go mad when they are hungry. I had one that almost jumped out of the tank when I entered the room if he was hungry.

They don't need much though.

I presume these are goldfish outside. The more times you can feed them with a very little pinch, the better for the fish. In the winter you can just about stop feeding depending on how cold it is.

No. Indoor, in a bowl.

It's ok, I think I've got it now. Feeding them twice a day, smallish pinch of flakes. They seem happy enough.

Yeah, me too - but my Dad says twice a day and the fish food tub says 'several times a day'..???

Just throw a sausage in there once a week and don't worry about it too much as, lets face it, they'll probably be dead in a month or so and then you'll have the 'do I lie to my children and secretly replace the fish or is it an important introduction in to the realities of death' dilemma.

There will be no 'dilemma'. When budgie number one died, we just stuck it in a shoe box (a nice one) and put him under the swing ball. Now, when we play, we always spare a little thought for poor Ronnie...
