Help Needed Please! My 19 Year Old Student Son Has Recently Had An On The Spot Fine

for weeing in public, of £90.
On Saturday evening, he got another fine of £90, and spent the night in a cell for being drunk and disorderly on an evening out celebrating an event!!
I am concerned as a mother, that this will give him a criminal record. He is at university, studying a four year Maths degree, and would like to be an accountant or something similar, when he leaves. Therefore, he can't really afford to get a criminal record!!
Can you please advice me on this all the experts out there!

This post makes me fume....but not for the reason you might be thinking.

Several weeks ago, I caught (as in literally seeing him do it) the local drunk "character" of our town pooing outside my house, right outside my doorstep.

I called the police, they knew exactly who it was- the outcome? Nothing! The dirty scrote doesn't even get told off, as according to the policeman I spoke to, its not even worth the bother.

Sorry- not really relevant the post, but it reminded me of the incident and I could feel my blood boiling all over again.

I'm on your side BOO and if it had happened to me and I knew where he lived, as distasteful as it sounds, I would pick it up (have to pick dog poo up anyway) and deposit it outside his house !!

i was once taken to the station for being a bit worse for wear - i fell over some binbags and they saw me - and put me in cell to sleep it off.
i had not been arrested or fined or done anything wrong - they initially took me home but because i wouldn't let them inside they said i was unsafe (because id fallen) an took me to the station...daft really

but despite me not doing anything wrong - for some reason this shows on my CRB check as 'drunk on the highway' ...

Police are not allowed (theoretically) to leave a drunk unattended for obvious safety reasons.
Having found you and taken you home just imagine the fallout if you were found dead from inhaling vomit or something the following day.
Believe me it has happened.
My first ever arrest was for 'drunk and incapable', we found a chap asleep on a bench and woke him to find he was ratted. Couldn't leave him, took him to the station and found almost £40,000 in his pocket.
He'd just sold his business and had celebrated. He was genuinely grateful because if someone had rolled him whilst he was out of it his life would have been ruined, left £50 in the box for the widows and orphans.
Much Police work is for the benefit of the 'victim' whether they like it or not.

i agree shoota, but in this instance i just turned a corner and there were binbags there and i tripped... i was drunk but not that bad, i was certainly capable - i had already walked for about 10 mins.

i dont mind them taking care of me - but why have it on the CRB?
why make it seem like i had done something wrong?
because whatever the circumstances, most people will read that and assume i was drunk and causing a scene or something
