How Long Do I Have To Find Somewhere Else To Live? Am I Still A Lodger?

After getting out of an abusive relationship I was out of money and went to live at a renting room with a friend. I live at his place without paying any rent ( because I can't afford it) and I am a full time uni student. The landlord does not know that I live there.
I live there eleven months and have all my bank account letters being sent to me at that address. The police also has on its records that I live there.
Lately, every time my friend doesn't get his way he is blackmailing me that he is going to kick me out. At times he has also blackmailed me that he is going to call the police on me and make false claims that I made him feel in fear of his life if he doesn't get his way.
I don't know what to do at the moment. I apply for jobs but I can't find anywhere that want to hire me and the money I have is enough to pay for my food only.
I can't claim benefits. Help.

Why can't you claim benefits? If you are here from a member country of the EU you CAN claim benefits.
Take a look at this:- https://www.gov.uk/browse/benefits/entitlement
and then go to your local Unemployment Office who will help you discover what you are entitled to.
My first question is, why is he not getting his way? he's your friend, a real freind he is letting you live rent free in his place, you have no rights, morally if not legally. You should be grateful and adhere to his wishes or leave, you are not contributing!
TTT - Surely that would depend on what he wanted??
Toratora. Sasha has not made it clear what "his way" is. If she is being forced into something she doesn't want she needs to be out of there NOW>
ok but please explain why you have any rights at all?
TTT, we don't know what these "wishes" are. It might not be as simple as demanding that sasha does all the dishes.

Anyway, sasha, try the CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau), they should be able to help with ideas and legal advice.

You need a Sheldon Cooper and write up a room mate agreement.

just because I am not paying rent doesn't mean that I don't offer anything. I pay for other things and contribute in other ways in the household such as buying things to clean the house, cooking etc.
Can full time uni students get benefits?

You have no rights where you are as you don't pay any rent or make other contribution. Go the Citizens' Advice Bureau and speak to somebody at university for advice.

Full time students don't get benefits. They get student loans. I also supposed to have income in another country that my parents are keeping. It is quite legally complicated. I have no money to pay rent.

What will happen if he calls the police and he makes false claims? Will I be arrested?
You probably would be arrested but that only means the police can interview you, get your side of the story and any other facts/evidence. It doesn't mean you will be charged.

Do you have no friends at uni who give you a place to sleep?
ok can you give us examples of your friend "not getting his way" - then we may have a chance of understanding the actual issue.
Depends what the claims are.

Go to CAB and see what to do next.

What kind of things is he blackmailing you about? Doing the dishes? Doing all the housework? Something else?
Question Author
It is not about housework. I do my share. It is more random. For example he came close to me and was chewing to my ear and I told him to back off and then he was trying to get revenge because he felt insulted.
He gave me a beer because I was cooking for him and the minute I opened it he called me a thief. And lots of other random things.
Question Author
He also gaslights me for lots of things and tries to make me feel crazy and then blames me.
Question Author
I have nowhere else to go and sleep. I have also all my things at this guy's house.
in the nicest possible way - go back home
Chewing to your ear, gaslighting?
What do you mean?
Question Author
I mean he came to my personal space, an inch away from my ear and was chewing and I told him to back off.
