Thank you but I can't afford one. He's bled me dry and cost me £1800 in lawyers fees last year just to give her back.
Give who back - I don't understand.

My understanding is that if he paid for the furniture, he can take it away..... Is the house still in your sole name?

You do need legal advice, go and see the CAB and see what they can advise.

When we split we paid a solicitor to draw up a separation order, which made it clear who owned what, who'd paid for what, etc. That solved any arguments in the future about people coming back for more money at a later date.
Is the property owned in your sole name? If not, was there any agreement with your ex about the percentage which each of you would own?

Were you/are you married?

These sort of questions are very relevant. You must get legal advice. Some CABs can refer you to family law solicitors who can give initial advice free of charge, & in some other towns there are free law centres.
as you can see lots of people make money from this sort of thing
and if you can agree (lots can't)
you save lots of money !

otherwise it is lawyers and their fees - and you know £2k of lawyers moolah represents a lot of furniture.... the cchoice is yours and your ex's
