I've been talking to this guy for three years am just recent started seeing him an he's now just told me that he wants to be with me but he might be getting charged with Statutory Rape an I'm getting my self all worried thinking I might see him again.

So my question is how long can you get for it and if someone could help me understand what Statutory Rape is?

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Statutory+Rape n statutory rape, overt force or threat is usually not present. Statutory rape laws presume coercion, because a minor or mentally handicapped adult is legally incapable of giving consent to the act.

Prosecution I meant
The prosecution are on his side?????
No they are not. The prosecution's job is to prosecute him, not defend him.

Well that's what was said
But they were BOTH under the age of consent, is that correct? - children behaving badly, I can't see him getting a custodial sentence for that, and despite what others are saying, at least he was decent enough to tell you about it, he had no need to.
Khandro -the fact the child was 10 makes a huge difference. It is automatic 'Statutory Rape' if the child is 10 or under. Statutory Rape exists in UK Law.

Khandro: yes they both was under age of consent an no I didn't expect him to tell me but I'm glad he did in a away

retro; But he was only 13 at the time, just a child himself.
Where's New Judge!
11 year old boys have been convicted of rape in the UK, Khandro
hc; convicted yes - they committed a crime, but was it retrospective (6 years in this case), and what was the punishment ?
I can think of one case which was retrospective but I can't find a link to it. The boy was 12 at the time but was in court when he was in his early 20s.
Of course the headline was 'man, 22, charged with the rape of 12 year old girl' which, although factually correct, puts a different slant on the matter.
