Hi was wondering if anybody can help. A friend of a friend has been put in jail over the weekend and he is in court this afternoon, Scottish court how do I find out what the charge is, can I call the court to find out? Will they tell me (Joe public) thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If it is the same as English courts they are not allowed to tell anyone the result of a court case. The only way is to actually sit in the court public gallery, even newspaper reporters have to go and sit in the public gallery to hear a case. For 'high profile' cases there will be a press release but not for 'everyday cases'.
