I can kinda understand how it happens. When we hire cars in Ireland it's kilometres per hour but my brain is programmed for miles per hour. Obviously in my case it's likely I'll be going slower...

Surely if he lives in Cheshire his car should be reistered in Britain, in which case I thought it had to comply with British regulations for speedo, headlamps etc. OK for cars temporarily imported, such as tourists, but residents need a "British" car.

Strange that when I drove a car with an imperial speedo in France and didn't 'understand' the speedo I tended to drive too fast, so wouldn't it work the other way driving a car with a metric speedo in UK?
and the law swallowed that load of *** and bull?

Who said anything about him being banged up (jailed) he should have been banned from driving certainly.

Time we had these idiots off the road for the safety of all other drivers and their families.
