This is a rather delicate question so before asking it, I do not intend to cause offence to anyone (I love you all). Is it correct to call someone with a dark coloured skin black or is it better to say coloured. This will settle an argument please.

I would have left it if the censor had just left the initial letters and '****' the rest but it wiped out the entire phase. I put it in because a Local group of black musicians called themselves the J***** B*****s and had a good laugh at the reactions of people. They were very talented and were popular back in the 1990s,probably got a new name now!
You're right - the native Australian nor the native American Indian fit in to those categories.
It has become ridiculously difficult, hasn't it, for people who do not feel any antagonism towards those of a different race to speak about differences between us?

I thought I had it right a few years ago, now it has changed. Wish terms could just be settled so we all know where we are. I described someone's dog as a 'black ***' the other day and was glared at by someone else. Sorry, there are no other words, what do I say? A dark-coloured female dog?

Indians have claimed Asian and the chinese ( 'Han') say no that is us.... ( which I would agree with )

yeah - I told the african porters, heavers and hewers at the local Lidl that my dog was a labrador botch

and they all rolled around PTL...

and I said you know the correct word for a lady dog is ....

and they rolled around a bit more - this time with tears, handing around spliffs and so on

and I thought ' hmm perhaps they dont ....'
^^^ See, b8888h was censored........What can you do? This is totally ridiculous!
I am not sure why its necessary to call them anything?
Because sometimes you have to when describing a person to someone else in conversation.
I haven't seen or heard the phrase "of colour" for a while. I seem to recall black actors - because we are no longer supposed to call female actors actresses - at Oscar award ceremonies using the phrase in the past. They would say such things as, "This is the first time a woman of colour has won Best Actress award." (Somehow, 'Best Actor' for a woman just feels wrong!)
Who says we can't say 'actress'?
Perhaps the same people who tell us we can't say 'coloured'! I don't know who they are either.

I expect that's the assumed default Woof.

But others might woofgang, depends where you live.
...and in the days of Black and White TV, 'for those of you watching in black and white, the pink is tucked neatly behind the yellow'.
