Street Brawl
What is the likelhood of police investigating a street brawl. I was involved in a Fight but wanst arrested at the scene. The men i was fighting stood up and walked away and didnt look injured. I went back to scene later on a seen a police van round the corner. If the police turned up but there was noone there still fighting or injured would they still activley look to find the purperteators. Im worried that this incident was on cctv and therefore they could track me down using that. Would it be a good idea to hand myself as i feel guilty and am losing sleep.

However, you could visit the Citizens Advice Bureau to see where you stand. And you could re-visit the scene to see how many cameras there are, and whether any of them might have recorded whatever you did.
This happened almost a month ago now. There is a council cctv camera pointing down the street it happened. I think ive got myself worried sick because our local paper put cctv images of a man who assualted someone in the same street. However mine was a scuffle that broke out rather than a random attack. I stupidly kicked someone when they were down and i feel like a scumbag for it, i never caught him hard but i know better than to do that. Next time someone confronts me il just be walking away. The police must have to deal with loads fights in our town centre so i doubt they can catch everyone. If the men i were fighting never put a complaint in would the police just leave it at that or would they still investigate? Im so paranoid about losing my job and going to prison over a drunken fight.
It's highly unlikely that after a month, police have been looking for you......Maybe CCTV didn't film anything or they've seen it, hard to recognise....who knows?
What's important is that you've learnt from this and hopefully, if ever faced with a similar situation, you won't act in the same way.....
I don't condone what you did in any shape or form, but understand that sometimes in life, you have situations that occur that you rather didn't, and if you can relive the moment, you'd handle it differently.....Just take this as a warning and get on with your life.
Good luck, tim and please, think before you act in future. :-)

Thanks for the responses I have definatley learnt my lesson. I think i've just made myself paranoid by reading horror stories in the papers about street fights that have ended up with people in jail. I keep thinking they might check cctv from the pub I was in before the fight broke out across the street but I dont know whether they would have time to check cctv from the whole surrounding area for one fight where nobody was seriously injured. I suppose I'll just have to get on with my life now whats I cant turn back time so I'll just have to learn from this experience and it will make me make smarter decisions in the future.
